how often do you water, and what exposure does it have?

Hi Greggo,,
I don't water these except in extremely dry periods. They are in very fast draining soil and perlite.
The exposure is in a bright spot against a fence facing east and with several hours of direct sun. I am in zone 6b with hot summers and cold winters. They survive the winter well if kept dry, otherwise the cold is no problem.

I like how packed in the hens and chicks are. I have a two pots that I've dubbed Death and Misery, since one drains too fast and the other is black, keeping the plants roots too hot. But I think a few cool chicks would do just fine. I'm feeling quite inspired! :o)

Hi Casa M,

Cool chicks seem to survive quite nicely where ever they find themselves.

I too have a Death and Misery type of pot that is black and in full sun, the chicks are doing fine, but seem happier with some water in order that they are to look their best
